行灯作り

今週また短期生と課外活動に行って、今回は１２人で京都市内にある体験工房という店で行灯を作る体験をしました。行灯、行燈（あんどん）は日本の典型的な照明器具の一つです。みんなはいろいろな絵が書いてある紙を自由に使って、自分が好きなデザインを作りました。学生は自分の国へ持って帰る行灯を作って、うれしそうでした。
建物のニ階はワークショップを行う場所として使われていて、一階にはいろいろなおもしろい物が売られているお店があります。学生たちは様々なお土産を買ったので、ワークショップだけではなく、お店も気に入ったようでよかったです。
Andon workshop
Also this week we went on a field trip with the short term students. This time we visited a shop in Kyoto city to make an Andon which is a typical Japanese lighting device. Everybody was free to choose between all kinds of paper with drawings and they could create their own design. Everybody seemed very happy that they could make something they could take back to their home countries. On the second floor of the building there was a room where various workshops are held and on the first floor there was a shop that sells all kinds of interesting things. The students didn't only like the workshop but they also seemed to like the shop because they bought a lot of souvenirs.
